Our Process

Collaboration is at the heart of DGC’s practice.

Meetings often take the form of workshops and design workshops (charettes) with the stakeholders. This is a customized approach to participatory design that achieves the most responsive project solutions. Design Group Collaborative considers listening key. Understanding client’s concerns and visions heightens the success of each project.

Our Philosophy

Combining aesthetic expression with high performance and energy efficient design.

Founding partners Carla Haskell, Principal; and Rosa Lane, Ph.D., Principal Emeritus, are LEED Accredited Professionals. To strengthen our commitment to sustainable design practices, DGC partners participate in the AIA 2030 Challenge educational series and International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) conferences. These conferences provide education and shared experiences of the participants in their quest for sustainable design strategies that have a real impact in our built environment.

DGC is also committed to support community non-profits. DGC participates in the 1+ pro bono program. 1+ challenges designers to dedicate 1% or more of working hours to pro bono service and connects nonprofits with pro bono design services.
