High Seas Dormitory and Conference Center

Originally designed in 1911 by local architect Frederick Savage, this seaside mansion is listed on the  National Register of Historic Places. It is currently used as a conference center and dormitory housing for students and visiting scientists for The Jackson Laboratory.

Design Group Collaborative worked closely with the Maine Historic Preservation Commission on this project. Renovations included masonry repair, a glass railing system, renovated bathrooms, and a new historic storm window system. Other upgrades, including new data systems, electrical updates, fire safety, plumbing and HVAC were made without harming the original aesthetic of the mansion.
