The Jackson Laboratory:

Building 56 Repository

Design Group Collaborative provided programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration for the Building 56 Repository. Building 56 is a two-story building, constructed in between two existing buildings. The Autoclave addition includes a warehouse, 100 s.f. autoclave, and sterile staging area.

The first floor of the building contains an animal holding area with a material entry area, and the second floor features a mechanical penthouse and a personnel entry area.

The Laboratory’s repository center consolidates approximately 20 mouse colonies into a single breeding facility, a project that will help the Laboratory deliver these valuable mice more quickly, efficiently, and economically to the researchers at other institutions who need them.
