Penobscot River Trails:

Warming Huts

DGC designed and oversaw through construction and furnishing, two 900 square feet post and beam style warming huts on Penobscot River Trails’ Long Logan Campus. Owned by a family funded, charitable foundation, Penobscot River Trail’s warming huts provide year-round refuge for their visitors and seasonal school programs. The two warming huts are located on the Riverside Trail with the Pines and Ridges Warming Hut 3.5 miles from the trailhead and the Long Meadow Warming Hut 8.5 miles from the trailhead. Both huts were located and designed to take advantage of natural surroundings and picturesque views of Mount Katahdin. Both warming huts are also accompanied by a vault toilet for visitor use.

Penobscot River Trails was voted the Best New Trail System by DownEast Magazine in 2019.  See our other Penobscot River Trails projects, the Headquarters Building and the Visitor Center.
