The Northeast Harbor Marina was one of the most important redevelopment projects to occur in the town of Mt. Desert, Maine in many years. It creates a valuable connection to the island-wide bus system and vital links to the downtown. The project involved the redevelopment of park space, lighting, and other site and landscape additions. It also includes the construction of three new buildings each with a unique character that reflects the surrounding architecture. The buildings include a harbor master building, with a maintenance garage; a visitor’s center with public restroom facilities and a public lobby; and a yachting building that includes shower rooms and a public lounge.
