The Grand Auditorium was built in 1938 and is located on Main Street in Ellsworth, Maine. It provides a bright and shining attraction to Ellsworth, Maine’s historic downtown.

As part of a project partially funded by a community development block grant façade grant administered by the City of Ellsworth and a Belvedere Grant administered by the Maine Community Foundation, Design Group Collaborative provided historic and scientific analysis to restore the marquee to its original design including the original paint colors and neon light design, while also adding LED digital screens on two sides of the marquee.

Design Group Collaborative worked closely with the Maine Historic Preservation Commission to adhere to the Department of Interior’s standards for historic preservation. The building is now listed on their Register for Historic Places.
